Scout's Tea Party
When Scout's mother called me up and wanted to do a Tea Party themed shoot for her little girl, I couldn't contain my excitement. I have a son and take lots of 'boy themed' (if there is such a thing) shoots so I couldn't wait to photograph something so whimsical and feminine.
I scoured my favorite local antique store for the perfect table linens and glassware. I used a teapot set I had been given years ago and rarely got used any more. I picked roses from my gardens to adorn the table with. I set everything up in my front yard to do a test run a few days prior. My son couldn't wait to drink tea and play along.
The day came and I borrowed a truck, drove all my props to the location and setup. It was so buggy but the light was just gorgeous that evening. And we got some beautiful shots and had a good time photographing and getting to know each other in the process. Hope we get to do this again. I'm really starting to enjoy more styled shoots like this one.
And after the tea party, with her special American Girl Doll as her guest, we explored the grounds in search of more flowers and whimsy.
We found our flowers!
We found a pretty summer fairy too!
